        Executive Summary: Lumen Mesh is a decentralized communication tool. We do not have servers, we do not have accounts, and we have zero access to your data. Your messages never leave the local mesh network.
    

1. Data Collection

Lumen Mesh does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers. This includes:

No Name or Email requirements.
No Phone Number verification.
No Analytics or Tracking cookies.
No Metadata harvesting.

2. Local Storage & Encryption

All data (messages, images, and settings) is stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLCipher database. The encryption key is generated locally on your device and is never shared with us or any third party.

3. Permissions (The "Why")

To function as a mesh network, the Android OS requires specific permissions. Here is exactly how we use them:

Nearby Devices & Bluetooth: Used to discover and connect to other Lumen nodes in your physical proximity.
Location: Required by Android to scan for Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Direct peers. We do not track or store your GPS coordinates.
Notifications: Used to alert you of incoming mesh messages when the app is active in the background.
Storage/Camera: Used only when you choose to send an image within the mesh.

4. Peer-to-Peer Transmission

Messages are transmitted directly from device to device using AES-256-GCM encryption. While messages may "hop" through intermediate devices to reach their destination, intermediate nodes cannot decrypt or read the content of your messages.

5. Third-Party Services

We use RevenueCat to manage optional Pro features. If you choose to upgrade, Google Play handles the transaction. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier to verify your purchase status, but no personally identifiable information from your messages or mesh activity is shared with them.

6. Contact
